Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • SettingsThe submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Jelentés és Nyelvhasználat is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that provides a forum for current linguistics research concerning the fields of semantics and pragmatics. Accordingly, the journal welcomes contributions from researchers working more or less isolated from one another in various universities and research institutions, who would like to publish articles meeting the aims and quality standards of the journal.

The formal requirements for the papers to be submitted are available for download in a stylesheet. The journal accepts submissions only in electronic format to the address jeny.journal@gmail.com as an MSWord doc, docx, rtf, OpenOffice/LibreOffice odt, or pdf attachment.

There is no submission deadline. Submissions are welcome all year round. After a double-blind review process, a correction, and a short technical editing phase, accepted papers are published in 2–3 months after submission.

Copyright Notice

Publishing in the journal is free. The authors are not charged any fees for reviewing, editing, and printing their articles. At the same time, the journal cannot provide any royalties to the authors for publishing their articles. However, the owner of copyright is the author, the papers already published in Jelentés és Nyelvhasználat are allowed to be published again elsewhere, even in an extended, revised form, or can be published on the author’s web page, or in other repositories. The only condition of a second or subsequent publications is that the author should refer to Jelentés és Nyelvhasználat as the first place of publication.
